Your first step

Smile Analysis consultation

The Smile Analysis is your first visit to Luminary Orthodontics. It is complimentary, and it is a conversation and an orthodontic evaluation in one: we listen to what you would like to change, look carefully at your teeth, bite and jaws, and explain what we see in plain words.

You leave knowing whether treatment makes sense for you now, what the options are, and what each would involve. There is no obligation to start treatment, and no pressure to decide that day.

THE PATIENT AND ANY OTHER PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT HAS A RIGHT TO REFUSE TO PAY, CANCEL PAYMENT, OR BE REIMBURSED FOR PAYMENT FOR ANY OTHER SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT THAT IS PERFORMED AS A RESULT OF AND WITHIN 72 HOURS OF RESPONDING TO THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE FREE, DISCOUNTED FEE, OR REDUCED FEE SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT.

Awaiting clinical review by Dr. Camille J. Rose Kong, orthodontist.

Who is a Smile Analysis for?

A Smile Analysis is the right first step for anyone with a question about their teeth or bite, including:

  • Adults thinking about clear aligners or braces, whether for the first time or after earlier treatment.
  • Teens, and parents of teens, wondering whether now is the right time.
  • Children by age 7, for the first check-up the American Association of Orthodontists recommends.
  • Anyone referred by their dentist or pediatrician.
  • Anyone who simply wants an orthodontist’s honest opinion before deciding anything.

What happens at a Smile Analysis?

The visit is unhurried and follows a simple sequence.

  1. A warm welcome

Our team greets you, confirms a few details, and makes sure you are comfortable. Parents and family members are welcome to join.

  2. Your goals

We start by listening: what you notice about your smile, what you would like to change, and anything that has held you back from asking before.

  3. The evaluation

Dr. Camille J. Rose Kong, an orthodontist, examines your teeth, bite and jaws. We take the photographs and digital records needed to understand what we see.

  4. Your options, explained

Your orthodontist explains what the records show, whether treatment would help now or later, and which approaches suit your teeth, including the trade-offs of each.

  5. Clear next steps

If treatment is recommended, you receive a written plan with the approach, an estimated timeline, your insurance benefits if you have them, and how payment works. Then you take the time you need to decide.

How long does a Smile Analysis take?

Allow time for an unhurried visit. When you reserve, we let you know how long to plan for, so you are never rushed.

If you decide to go ahead, treatment usually begins at a separate visit, once your plan is ready and your questions are answered.

What should I bring?

  • Your dental insurance card, if you have one, so our team can review your orthodontic benefits.
  • A list of any medications and health conditions.
  • Your questions. Writing them down beforehand helps you leave with every one of them answered.
  • For a child or teen: a parent or legal guardian.

What do I leave with?

  • A plain explanation of what we found.
  • Whether treatment is recommended now, later, or not at all.
  • The options that suit your teeth, and what each would involve.
  • If you go ahead: a written plan covering the approach, estimated timeline, insurance benefits and payment.

How do I reserve my visit?

You can reserve your complimentary Smile Analysis online at any time, or call or text the practice line during office hours. If you have been referred by a dentist or pediatrician, let us know when you reserve.

Questions we are often asked

Is the Smile Analysis really complimentary?

Yes. The Smile Analysis is complimentary, and there is no obligation to begin treatment.

Do I need a referral from my dentist?

No referral is needed. If your dentist or pediatrician suggested the visit, let us know and we will keep them informed with your permission.

Will I find out the cost of treatment?

If treatment is recommended, you receive a written explanation of fees, your insurance benefits and payment options before you decide. We do not publish fees online because they depend on your plan.

Can I bring my child and ask about myself too?

Of course. Let us know when you reserve so we can plan enough time for everyone.
