Accessibility

Our commitment to an accessible website

Everyone should be able to learn about orthodontic care and reserve a visit with us, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We build this website to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we go further where we can.

How the site is built

  • Text contrast of at least 7 to 1 against its background, the stricter AAA level, for body text and headings.
  • Buttons and links with touch targets at least 48 pixels tall.
  • Every page usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip to the main content.
  • Headings in order, labelled page regions and descriptive link text, so screen readers can move through each page easily.
  • Motion kept gentle and switched off entirely if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Plain-language copy, and questions and answers shown on the page rather than hidden behind clicks.
  • Reserve links that are ordinary links, which keyboards, screen readers and browser assistants can all follow.

No accessibility overlay

We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget. Accessibility is built into the pages themselves, so it works the same way for everyone without anything extra to switch on.

Known limitations

  • Some pages link to services run by other companies, such as online bill payment and the review websites. Their accessibility is managed by those companies.
  • Photographs are being added. Each will carry a text description when it is published.

What if something is hard to use?

Please tell us. Let us know the page and what got in the way, and a team member will follow up to help you, including by phone if you prefer.
